ABOUT - History
Thanks for visiting EVG. We are one of the newer gaming sites. The first few members of the site, often referred to as “Trusted Veterans” have been with the site through several phases, good and bad. The phrase, “Trusted Veteran”, also serves as a member rank with exclusive privileges to those who have earned the title. All or most of the veterans frequented Gamefaqs, but left the site due to various moderator issues. Following their departure from Gamefaqs, the members joined a Proboard, named Synner’s Paradise (krissynz.proboards.com). It is commonly referred to as the “Father Site” because it is ultimately responsible for the sites leading up to the creation of Epic Video Gamers.
After constant, arising issues amongst the members of Synner’s Paradise , some departed, some choosing to stay and others creating their own Proboard. One of the emerging Proboards being Jill Pire, named after Resident Evil’s female protagonist, Jill Valentine. The site was run by MissValentine, known as V for Valentine and Adman V1029. The site was mainly occupied by those two and another, me, known as Beasley at the time.
Curious about starting my own site I inquired about creating a proboard. With Valentine and Adam’s helps, this site began as a Proboard back in January 2009. It was dedicated to the Resident Evil series. I named it resitewarchronicles.com – short for Resident Evil, the Site War Chronicles. Being banned from all the major Resident Evil sites, I decided to detail the events on the proboard and then in April of 2009, I purchased the domain name, resitewars.com, a few months later I acquired the domain name, site-wars.com (both of which focuses on the Resident Evil series, with Site-Wars ultimately ending the exclusivity to Resident Evil. Subsequently, I purchased the final name, epicvideogamers.com
The forum has been the same throughout all the site changes. Even with the various domain names, the members and posts and been consistent, never starting over from scratch. April 4th marks our annual anniversary.
ABOUT – EVG as a site
Epic Video Gamers seeks to provide unbiased reviews, opinions and scores about all games. As mentioned previously we are not exclusive to any video game series or genre and will be expanding our coverage to films and other forms of media. This will be a one stop source for all media information. Our content is also dependent upon input from the community. We value member contributions as contributors are the source of every site’s content.
Being apart of EVG really feels like being part of a family, no matter how large the EVG family tree gets. At EVG, your email won’t get spammed, an, if you notice, we aren’t plagued with advertisements everywhere, nor do we endorse any particular entertainment brand. We really are about our community, and unlike most sites, we refuse to utilize our members to bring in revenue. This practice means that your presence and activity is extremely valued and we appreciate your decision to join or even just visit us.
Thank you, see you around!
